Flavor Profile
Founded by legendary winemaker Angelo Maci, the Cantine due Palme winemaking cooperative started out with a simple mission. Fifteen growers in southern Italy’s Puglia region banded together to save the area’s ancient vines and preserve its local winemaking traditions. Today, Cantine due Palme is one of the most respected co-ops in Puglia and has won Vinitaly’s Italian Winery of the Year title three times.
We’re pleased to present Monterocco Negroamaro, the latest red-wine masterpiece to come out of Cantine due Palme. Talented winemaker Vincenzo Campanella has worked his whole career at the winery. He sourced Negroamaro grapes from vines grown in Puglia’s red mineral-rich soils, which give lovely complexity to the wine. The vines also grow just a few miles from both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, providing them with cooling sea breezes that help preserve freshness.
Look forward to juicy, ripe berry, black cherry and dark chocolate flavors. The palate is elegant, with a crunchy freshness that makes this Negroamaro a delicious foil to hearty pastas, pizzas and other rich Italian cuisine.
Cantine due Palme’s wines are always popular with our customers. Hurry to be among the first to taste Monterocco.
