Flavor Profile
Here's a gorgeous new red wine commemorating a very exciting milestone: the repeal of Prohibition. December 5, 2023 marked the 90th anniversary of the 21st Amendment (which repealed the 18th Amendment—officially putting an end to America’s Prohibition Era and making the sale of alcohol legal again). Obviously, as a wine merchant, we’re happy to honor this history. And what better way to do so than with an iconic American wine?
Named for the length of time Prohibition lasted, 13 Years Reserve is a luxurious, award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon from a prized single vineyard in California’s Santa Ynez Valley AVA (located within the famed Santa Barbara County). Twelve months of careful aging in fine oak barrels imparted chocolatey spice notes to the Cab’s ripe black fruit, subtle mint and peppercorn flavors. Beautifully complex, it’ll delight alongside seasoned skirt steaks, holiday roasts and more.
With its beautiful, gold-foil label evoking the hush-hush secret doors of Prohibition-era speakeasies, this beautiful Reserve is sure to impress.
