Beyond the label

No weekend in Argentina is truly complete without an asado, where friends and family gather to enjoy a selection of flame-grilled meats from the barbecue. Inspired by this delicious tradition, Asado Malbec is a smooth, flavorful red wine that’s ready for a juicy steak.

Asado is crafted by Familia Zuccardi, who was “one of the pioneers” of Argentine wine, “pursuing quality when others were satisfied with quantity,” according to The Wine Advocate. Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi, the estate is led today by his son José (below) and grandson Sebastián. Decanter ranked Sebastián No. 1 on its “Top 10” list of South American winemakers, and has declared all three men “among the five most influential personalities in Argentine wine.”

After selecting the ripest Malbec grapes from their Mendoza vineyards, Sebastián and his team aged the wine in French oak barrels for 12 months. The resulting wine brims with expressive violet, ripe black fruit and toasty spice notes. Enjoy it at your own barbecues or alongside any rich, hearty meals.

Argentine Malbec is an incredibly popular wine style, and the Zuccardis make some of the finest we’ve tried. Hurry for your share of Asado.
