Beyond the Label

Welcome to France’s famed Bordeaux. This beauty—a classic marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot—was crafted in the superb 2019 vintage at the small, quality-focused estate of Château du Moulin Neuf in the premium Médoc appellation. Top French wine guide Gilbert & Gaillard’s judges awarded it a gold medal and wrote, “Beautiful dark, vibrant red. Delicate nose of red and black fruits with elegant oaky undertones. The palate is young...with focused aromas.”

Bordeaux’s 2019 vintage is acknowledged by critics and wine enthusiasts worldwide as a standout year. A very hot growing season helped the grapes ripen to perfection and develop seriously concentrated flavors. “This is a beautiful, incredibly high-quality vintage for Bordeaux that will certainly be included in the list of recent great vintages,” expert Jeb Dunnuck writes, going on to note that “the wines show beautiful ripeness.”

The Médoc region is “the most famous red wine district in Bordeaux, and possibly the world,” says Jancis Robinson, MW. Situated on Bordeaux’s storied Left Bank, it takes its name from the Latin medio aquae, as it lies between the estuary of the Gironde and the Atlantic.

This fine Bordeaux is elegant and complex, with structured tannins and a l-o-n-g, vibrant finish. You can expect ripe cherry, currant and plum flavors, plus subtle vanilla oak notes. Taste it with firm cheeses or serve it with roasted beef, lamb or mushroom risotto. Whatever you choose, we suggest that you decant it for an hour before serving to unleash its complex aromas.
