Beyond the label

Owned by the same family for over 115 years, Château du Tastet is an award-winning estate in Saint-Vivien de Montségur, southeast of Bordeaux. As you'd expect in this subregion—the Entre-Deux-Mers—the dominant grape is silky-smooth, plum-rich Merlot, supported by its Cabernet friends: Sauvignon and Franc.

And it’s all the better thanks to 2020, which was an outstanding vintage for Bordeaux, producing reds with exceptional richness and ripe fruit depth, yet with the structure and velvety tannins for aging. Critic James Suckling described it as having “outstanding quality level from first growths to petit chateaux,” while Jeb Dunnuck wrote, “Bordeaux has another terrific vintage on its hands.”

Château du Tastet sports a gold medal from Gilbert & Gaillard and here’s what you can look forward to: aromas of ripe plum, cherry and a hint of rose petal, with intensely concentrated flavors of ripe plum and cassis, plus silky tannins.

To experience how wonderful this wine truly is, we recommend decanting it 30 minutes before serving. It's a great choice for roasted red meats, grilled steak or a warming winter casserole.
