A rare opportunity for Bordeaux fans...
Famed Château La Conseillante, located in Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, is known for consistent, excellent wines that age wonderfully. For nearly 150 years, generations of the Nicolas family have deftly tended to the vineyard—though history tells us that fine wines have actually been produced on this property since at least the mid-1700s. No stranger to acclaim, the Château’s Grand Vin is the recipient of a steady flow of awards, including many for this extraordinary 2015 release.
Bordeaux’s 2015 vintage is regarded as phenomenal by critics worldwide—including James Suckling, who said, “The wines have a lot of “wow” factor when you taste them.” Master of Wine Jancis Robinson agreed, declaring that “Bordeaux lovers will certainly want to have some 2015s in their cellars,” and going on to award this barrel-aged charmer 18.5 points on a 20-point scale. “If you love your wines on the hedonistic side…2015 Pomerol is for you,” The Wine Cellar Insider’s Jeff Leve remarked, awarding Château La Conseillante 98 points and raving, “This is bottled decadence.”
A classic Merlot-dominant blend, this elegant Pomerol is smooth with a plush texture that’s complemented by a good dose of freshness from the addition of Cabernet Franc. The wine offers an “intense bouquet that is very well defined, scents of cranberry and wild strawberry, cold wet stone, hints of black truffle,” said critic Neal Martin, rating it 96 points. Its decadent fruit flavors impressed many reviewers, such as those at Wine Spectator, who gave Château La Conseillante 95 points and applauded its “core of dark boysenberry, raspberry and blackberry compote.”
It’s drinking beautifully now, but will really come into its own over the next decade or so with careful cellaring.
Act now to secure your share—2015 was such an exceptional vintage that much of the stock for this incredible buy is already tucked away.
