Flavor Profile

Wine Flavor Profile
Château Le Bonalguet is a medium-bodied red wine with expressive plum, black currant, blackberry and floral-spice aromas. Well structured and elegant, the palate offers more rich black fruit and toasty spice, plus a long, smooth finish.
Beyond the label

We’re thrilled to introduce this highly anticipated release of Château Le Bonalguet, a balanced and elegant Merlot-based Bordeaux blend that offers rich and compelling blackberry flavors acorss a long finish.

Past vintages of this “powerful” red have been rated “a near-perfect wine” by Fabrice Sommier, a former Best Sommelier of France who worked at Georges Blanc’s 3-Michelin-star restaurant in Vonnas for over 20 years. It also sports a history of gold-medal acclaim from some of France’s toughest shows—and this release is every bit as impressive.

With expert winemaker Gregory Dalla Longa at the helm, the Sueur family produces the wine at their quality-focused, 15-hectare estate. They employ rigorous selection standards in the vineyard (ensuring only the ripest grapes are picked), then treat the wine to extra care in the winery.

In the glass, a deep ruby color leads to ripe plum, blackberry and floral aromas and flavors held by silky-smooth tannins. If you’re lucky enough to secure a bottle (or 12), serve it alongside beef tenderloin or mature cheeses. It can be enjoyed now (after decanting) or allowed to mature for a few more years.

Don’t wait to order—we have limited cases to share.
