Flavor Profile

Wine Flavor Profile
Chateau Le Vieux Duché is a medium-bodied red wine with plum aromas, underpinned by notes of spice. On the palate, there’s a silky texture and a smooth, gently spicy finish.
Beyond the label

Bordeaux’s tiny Pomerol region produces some of the world’s most luxurious (and expensive) reds. For a taste of that opulence minus the price tag, savvy Bordeaux fans are rushing next door: “Lalande-de-Pomerol has a buzz around it—the modest appellation where the smart money goes” (Decanter).

Our man on the ground, Jean-Marc Sauboua, uncovered your lovely, barrel-aged taste at an estate with a winemaking tradition dating back to 1852. It’s a classic blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc—and a brilliant showcase of Bordeaux’s glorious 2020 vintage. Judges at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition were so impressed, they awarded it a gold medal.

This wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and is marked by intense aromas of plum and spice. We always recommend sipping fine Bordeaux with a meal, and you can never go wrong with the classic pairing of Bordeaux and filet mignon. Its silky flavors will also shine along firm cheeses like Cheddar.

Hurry to secure your share of this fine Lalande-de-Pomerol.
