Beyond the label

Jean Paux-Rosset owns Château la Négly, the first estate in southern France’s Languedoc region to win critic Robert Parker’s coveted 100-point score. For this exclusive release, he’s teamed up with Claude Gros, “one of the most talented, yet least known top consultants in the wine world” (critic Jeb Dunnuck).

Named for the town at its center, the Faugères region has a viticultural tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. A classic blend of local Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, Château Rigaud earned 91 points from Dunnuck. He wrote: “a beautiful bouquet of blueberries, blackberries, violets...elegant, with a great finish. Drink it over the coming 7-8 years.”
