Beyond the label

“…one of the rarest and most prestigious wines in France.”

White Châteauneuf-du-Pape is pretty special. And Château Sixtine is a seriously fine example you don’t want to miss.

It’s from the cellars of the legendary Diffonty family, who’ve been Rhône Valley winegrowers since 1673. We go way back with current proprietor Jean-Marc Diffonty (below), which is a very good thing for you.

He always sets aside a small parcel of his luscious Châteauneuf-du-Pape blanc for us. Previous vintages have won serious acclaim—like a pair of 90-point ratings from Rhône expert Jeb Dunnuck and Decanter, plus a 92-point rave from Wine Spectator: “Lively, with a mix of star fruit, white peach, honeysuckle and fennel notes racing along. The bright, open-knit finish leaves a mouthwatering echo.” After tasting the just-landed 2022 release, we can confirm that it’s equally impressive.

If you’re lucky, we won’t be sold out by the time you click Add to Cart. And if you score some, try matching it up with crispy duck tacos, classic roasted chicken or a plate of your favorite cheeses (we like mild blues like Bleu d’Auvergne).
