Flavor Profile
The tiny village of Sancerre in France’s Loire Valley has been the spiritual home of Sauvignon Blanc for centuries. It owes its success to chalky and flinty soils, a cool climate and gently sloping vineyards—all of which bring out an intensity of aroma and raciness of flavor that has made Sancerre coveted the world over.
Le Clos de Chaudenay is an award-winning release from Domaine Daniel Reverdy. We’ve been championing the wines of the Reverdy family since 2002, when they produced their first estate-bottled wines. Being sticklers for premium quality, they have just eight hectares of vines. While Daniel Reverdy tends the vineyards, his son Cyrille—having returned home after years of training in Burgundy—looks after the winemaking. And quality has really risen under his care.
Crafted with carefully selected Sauvignon Blanc, this release bursts with expressive aromas and flavors of white flowers, ripe citrus and fresh mineral notes—making it an ideal partner for seafood, salads or creamy goat cheese (Sauvignon Blanc’s classic match).
Like all the domaine’s wines, this lovely Sancerre is made in very tiny batches. Hurry for your share.
