Flavor Profile

Beyond the label

The Sartirano family has tended vineyards in Piedmont’s beautiful rolling hills for four generations, making the fine traditional wines of this renowned region, as well as more unusual blends. Above all, they pride themselves on the quality of their native grapes. That quality, along with their decades of winemaking expertise, is on full display in Domare 2022.

Current proprietor, Paolo, selected perfectly ripened Barbera grapes from the family’s vineyards. Barbera is one of the Piedmont region’s star red grape varieties, adored by locals and international wine enthusiasts alike for producing delicious, great-value wines. Paolo also added a touch of Dolcetto, another native Italian grape. In his words, this helped to tame (“domare”) the wine, making it softer and fruitier.

Domare offers juicy, ripe dark cherry and red plum flavors. The palate has deliciously silky tannins and a pleasing crunch of freshness that makes this wine perfect for pairing with traditional Italian dishes. Think pizza, pastas, charcuterie plates and more.

Our Italian wine fans always snap up the Sartirano family’s wines in a flash. Do hurry to secure your share of Domare.
