Flavor Profile
Opening with delicate strawberry and floral aromas, and pouring a lovely shade of pink, Field of Stones Marlborough Rosé is an easy-to-drink, easy-to-love rosé we just can't get enough of. But that's not surprising, given it comes from the legendary Dr. John Forrest, who was an early pioneer of Marlborough, New Zealand's Golden Mile, the original and best vineyard strip in the area.
He’s also a two-time Winemaker of the Year and the talent behind many of our best-selling New Zealand wines. This one is even more special, as he crafted it alongside his daughter Beth (that’s them below), an experienced winemaker who’s carrying on the family tradition.
John and Beth sourced the grapes from three of their family vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau River Valley. These plots are strewn with stones (hence the wine’s name), which impart a delicious mineral complexity. They selected mostly Pinot Noir, key to the pretty pink color, with smaller portions of white grapes Arneis, Grüner Veltliner and Chenin Blanc.
Look forward to beautifully expressive ripe strawberry, red cherry and citrus flavors underscored by that aforementioned mineral complexity. And at only 9.5% ABV, it'as wonderfully light and fresh—perfect for brunch or lunch dates.
Rosés are always in demand, and New Zealand's wines have been harder to come by lately, due to recent low-yielding vintages. Hurry to secure your share of this elegant Marlborough bottling.
