Flavor Profile
Jérémie Huchet is a leading figure in the Loire Valley’s Muscadet appellation. He took over his family’s estate, Domaine de la Chauvinière, in 2001 and proceeded to buy up more vineyards that he believed had huge potential. You could call it an obsession. Today those vineyards number 64 hectares and he is slowly turning them all organic. To him, organic farming not only looks after the land for future generations, it produces the best grapes too.
Jérémie hugely respects Muscadet’s long-held traditions and firmly believes that by walking the vineyards, understanding each plot, his vines will produce grapes that make even better wines.
Fisherman’s Return is an ultra-refreshing blend of the Muscadet grape, Melon de Bourgogne, plus dazzling, citrusy Sauvignon Blanc from several different plots. To Jérémie, it’s the thirst-quenching style that fisherman might enjoy after a long day, dangling for a catch out at sea. It’s also the popular style of wine enjoyed in beachside cafes along the Atlantic coast of France.
This crisp, zippy white is wonderfully aromatic, with citrus and delicate floral notes greeting you in the glass. On the palate, look forward to big waves of citrus and grapefruit with a touch of seaside minerality on the finish. It’s delicious on its own, and makes a great match for fresh seafood and salads.
