Flavor Profile

The Wine

If you’re a fan of California Zinfandel (or luscious, fruit-rich reds in general), then you simply must taste this exciting 2022 release of GFF Zinfandel.

Originally from Greece, the Kapiniaris family has brought four generations of winemaking expertise to their boutique estate in sunny California. Their flavor-packed Zinfandel bears the name GFF for the three men who crafted it: father Gus Kapiniaris (below), his son Frank and head winemaker, Franck Lambert.

After selecting the best grapes from the estate’s vineyards in Lodi, the undisputed Zinfandel capital of the world, the talented trio treated the wine to kid-glove care. This level of effort helped them earn a coveted double-gold medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition—for two vintages in a row. You’re in for layers of succulent blackberry and bramble fruit flavors, plus hints of peppery spice and velvety-smooth tannins. The resulting Zin is very food-friendly—our favorite matches include burgers, roasted pork and black bean chili.

The Kapiniaris family pride themselves on their quality reputation, and we think this Zinfandel is an impressive addition to their range. Order your share today, then tell us what you think with an online review.
