Beyond the label

Le Champ des Etoiles (‘field of stars’) is the handiwork of the talented Mark Hoddy—made in the image of top-notch Burgundy, but with a southern French twist. It has a balance of juicy freshness and ripe fruit flavor that keeps you coming back for more.

Every year, this ‘star’ wins critical acclaim and raves from customers. The tasting panel for France's prestigious Gilbert & Gaillard wine guide awarded the 2020 release a gold medal and wrote, “Pleasant nose combining dark stone fruits with licorice and a spice note. The palate is supple and easy-drinking with good grip and charming aromas. The wine is framed by elegant, well-judged tannins.”

While on the hunt for the perfect Pinot paradise, Mark stumbled upon Torquebiau—a tiny vineyard in the Coteaux du Languedoc, close to the phenomenal Mas de Daumas Gassac estate. After Mark’s kid-glove treatment in the winery, the wine bursts with Pinot Noir’s characteristic red fruit aromas and flavors and signature silky texture. Look for ripe strawberry and red currant aromas, with hints of sweet spice. Juicy raspberry and crisp white cherry unfold on the palate, with a refreshing finish. Enjoy as a lightly chilled aperitif, or pair with grilled salmon, roasted turkey and more.
