Flavor Profile

Wine Flavor Profile
Palacio del Conde is a medium-bodied red wine with ripe red currant, raspberry and generous spice aromas. The palate delivers a smooth, ripe strawberry core, wrapped in spicy vanilla oak. Excellent length.
Beyond the label

Where else can you find luxuriously barrel-aged, mature reds of this quality at such an everyday price?

Not only is today’s Spanish wine scene “among the most vibrant, dynamic and creative in the world” (Tim Atkin, Master of Wine), it offers incredible value. Palacio del Conde Gran Selección (now in a 1.5-liter magnum bottle) hails from Valencia and it’s on a serious winning streak. The last nine releases each scored major awards, and the gorgeous 2016 continues the tradition with two prestigious gold medals of its own.

Winemaker Maria Angeles Camara is a leading name in the Valencia region. She gave her prized Tempranillo an extended 30 months in barrel, which provides a soft edge of vanilla to the ripe red-fruit core. Aromatic and smooth, it’ll shine with duck or lamb, strong cheeses or tapas like jamón serrano. Decanting one hour before serving will really open up those silky, spice-kissed flavors.

Reds like this beauty represent some of the best values in wine—for now. Get in before the rest of the world catches on.
